Re: RNLI:- to save lives at sea

I've always wanted to meet someone who feels that by resigning from anything he feels that he makes his point! I've always believed that the only way to make a point is to stick with it, make a lot of noise and offer one's services to the organisational in some voluntary organistaional capacity.
Once you've resigned you are forgotten - unless your name is Thatcher!

Re: South Broads

We Lowestoft lifeboat people were very amused to see that there was to be a special team for Breydon Water. We had always teased the Gorleston Lifeboat that they had performed most of their rescues inland and didn't like going to sea. (Actually, we were fierce rivals, but worked well together when necessary)

Now the Good old boys from Gorleston itself will be able to deal properly with the sea. BUT BUT

We now have a big super RIB dashing up and down the inland waters at a high and dangerous speed making an enormous wash which can capsize small open boats. They need to watch it a bit.

As for the RNLI in general, they are now run by a retired general. Enough said.
