Heard rescue 122 but don't know how it all worked out. Any news?
Capsized yacht presumably keel lost?

That would be it. Reading the report people taken off on the 21st boat recovered today. Thanks for link. Doesn't look like a Bavaria!

Keel still on too, not sure how it capsized or why it wasn't righted - the 2 RNLI guys had no difficulty.

I think they had the benefit of a tow rope around the hull being pulled by a heavy rib with a big donkey on the back Steve!

We heard the CG half of the incident as we sailed down the east coast towards Puffin Sound on Saturday afternoon. The Sunday 07h50 CG broadcast gave a navigation warning of a 20 ft blue hull, anchored, inverted with 4 ft of keel above the water line. Without speculation, anyone know what happened?

Cue the inevitable Bavaria references...

I am sure you mean Beneteau and Janneau, because so far those are two manufacturers who's boats we know for sure have lost their keels, and beside given the recent loss of lives I believe it insensitive to joke about keels losses.

The boat looked like she could be a Yeoman / Kinsman, though it's hard to tell from the pic; a Kinsman - the lift keel version, - at my club was knocked over at her mooring in a gale, in this case with the keel raised, then she had been rather neglected.

No, I actually meant Bavaria, because the AWB-knockers always mention the isolated Bavaria keel incident, never other makes. As a result, Bavaria now actually mention on their website that they use more keelbolts than most manufacturers.

Its an odd one to be sure. Don't think its a Squib or a Yoeman probably not a Kinsman as it looks to have a straight stub keel.
Looking carefully you can see she is fitted with trapeze wires as a handle is visible in one picture. It also has a bit of a flare on the gunwhale to deck join and not so much of a cuddy like a Yoeman.
The boat wasn't far from where we were at the weekend. It was very gusty at the time so probably just a capzise from which they couldnt recover.
Llanddwyn lighthouse is in the background of one of the pictures. They couldnt have picked a closer spot to RAF Valley and Rescue 122! Probably two minutes flying time.
Philiz of this parish was anchored up with them at pilots Cove close to them shortly before the event.
