Matsutec 33A internal battery

Does it have one?

The unit no longer remembers its MMSI number, ships name etc when switched off and on again.

Seems likely there is a battery somewhere that has gone flat, but I cant see any reference to it anywhere or see where it could fit.

I already searched this. No reference anywhere to an internal battery.

Mine did that years ago when I first installed it.... there was a software update that you downloaded with a home made USB cable.... fixed it for me. If you decide to go down this route, I may still have the file.....

Thing is, it has never done it before. I left it switched on for 48 hours to charge up any internal battery, but when I switched it off and on again all own boat data including MMSI was gone.

Re-entered it, jiggled the GPS antenna input plug and it is all working again. Seems to be two separate faults, GPS and internal memory.
