Can anybody tell me how tall my mast is?

I'm getting a bit stressed out now. I can't find the information anywhere.

It's a mk1 corribee by the way, and I don't know which rig it has.

Nathan - don't get stressed, man, we need your videos to unstress office life. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Can't you use a halyard to run a piece of line up the mast, let it down again, and then measure it on deck ? With a few extra inches (sorry, young master, centimetres) for the distance above the sheave?

Had a search but with as much luck as you.

You could measure the length of halyard it takes to raise the sail, measure waterline to boom and add a bit for the top of the mast. Should get close enough for most things....

Good idea. If I wasn't having such a bad hair day I'd probably have been smart enough to think of that blindingly obvious tactic. I'll go do it now before it gets dark. I am a plonker.

Oh, this is really testing my patience.

your terminal velocity on hitting the deck will be 11.44 metres per sec.

Just thought you would like to know that !

You could have a word with George .. He might let you alongside the wall at Ramsholt .. Then you will not have so far to fall .. You may also be able to pull it over slightly and get to the top without the climb .. Or put it on the hard and then climb up ..

I've been an angry man this evening, but that just cracked a smile on my face. Good timing, thank you. haha.

I think I will cross the bridge tomorrow. I've had enough for today. You're right, I am tired and getting grumpy. I just want the boat to be working and the weather helpful. I want to sail around Britain. Is that too much to ask? lol

It's a lot easier to think up solutions while sat comfortable with a beer! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I didn't like to mention that for about 30 mins on each tide, while the keels are just clear of the mud, I can pull the mast across to the top of my mooring to work on it.....

....and if I told you I'd also got a folding mast, you might just think I was taking the piss! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Ah, but then she hits the bottom at low tide while you're hanging on to the top and you end up stuck at the top of the mast with the boat sitting on mud until the tide comes in again /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
