My first impression of that is, someone has grafted a modern prop and lower housing onto a 1930's top half, but only because it looks so much more 'streamlined' than the tank and fly wheel..:)

Never had a 1930s one but the two 1960s ones I had (40 and Century Plus) were the easiest and most reliable every-time-first-pull-start engines I've ever owned. Even my near-new Yamaha 2.5 four-stroke running on Aspen took three pulls after a fortnight last week.

I couldn't though live with 10:1 mix and the rainbow water-oil stain from tickling the carb now though.

Interesting that the old Marston adverts show a large ( possibly silencer ) cone....
