Could anybody out there give me any advice about a non firing cylinder .The engine is a mariner 2 stroke 3 cylinder 50-60 hp have changed spark plugs swapped leads and ignition coils but all to no avail cylinder no1 still has no spark.As i am new to the marine engine world any advice would be greatly appreciated gjm

I dont know the specific motor but will try to help from general principles.
Can you swap the wires from one of the other coils to that no.1 coil? If that lead then shows a spark the problem is probably in the unit that sends the signal to no.1 coil, If it doesnt spark then it is the coil or lead but you say you have eliminated that. Did you try that coil in the place of one of the others and was it ok?

Check all connections for corrosion on the low tension side.
As you have two cylinders that are ok , you should be able to eliminate all possibilities with a bit of careful swapping around. In the past I have spotted insulation failure by testing for a spark in a fairly dark place and seen a spark jump where it shouldnt be.(on the HT side)
It might be a good idea to make a note of which wire goes where before you start.
