Marine Mega Superstore

I live in Canada, but I have a son who lives in London, England who could get me the parts.
How reliable is Marine Mega Superstore?
I think I've seen some bad press on here, but it may have been one or two unhappy customers.
Generally, are they reliable?

I think you might be mixing up MarineMegaStore and MarineSuperStore, 2 very different firms.

I'd hazard a guess that you will soon see lots of posts saying things like avoid MarineMegaStore like the plague. I don't have time to look out threads just now but am certain someone else will (if not, I'll update this post tomorrow).

Update: Actually found some posts pretty quickly. I also forgot to mention that I have used Marine Super Store several times and found that their prices and service were good.

I'd guess Marine Meagstore have many satisfied customers but when things go wrong with an order they seem to have neither the will nor the means of sorting it out quickly.

Rather more than one or two unhappy customers among forumites ITYWF.

Marine Superstore generally gets good reports these days

The latter have ashop in Port solent Marina and I guess keep a good stock

The former do not AFAIK have a retail outlet. I doubt if they keep much stock

I had a long delay getting stuff from megastore, 3-10 day delivery a over £5 became over 3 weeks. They dont have everything in stock even though the webpage lets you buy it.

They wouldnt discuss it over the phone either, i had to use there online chat thing.

I've used megastore with no problems at all, so ...
However, marine-superstore is extremely competitive, unless you are fussed about the last 5p discount, and I dont think anyone has ever complained about them.

Bought several times from Marine Superstore, usually the best price for electronics, always good, fast service...

I would have thought West Marine in the States would not only be cheaper but quicker and their service is second to none, that's assuming they sell what you are looking for.
