Evening all,

Can anyone recommend a Marine Engineer in the Maldon area please? Good quality work at a reasonable price would be great as I have an oldish Volvo that needs rebuilding.

Thanks loads,

James

I am down at the yard in the morning and will forward his number. He is retired and picks his jobs. His rates are very reasonable and the locals would not use him if he were not good.

I spoke to Pete today and he is snowed under with work and doesn't want to take on anymore at present. Sorry.

No worries, thanks Steve. Is he based down at Shipways? I'm down there anyway and the new boat will be there in April. Maybe he'll be a bit quieter then.

Thanks to all for your help and recommendations, much appreciated!

Yes I think he is. His knickname is Grumpy Pete but I have always found him a jolly nice chap!

Do come and say hello. Mines the Colvic Watson 'Rose' right out at the end of the first pontoon. It's a great place to keep a boat, lots of skilled shipwrights and so on. A really great community too. You must join the Little Ships Club, cheap beer and rolls and always someone to chat to.

Thanks Steve, I saw your new Colvic today, very nice!

I love it down there, the best yard i've ever moored at. I'll be sure to come and say hi the next time i'm down.
