I found this video of a DIY waste tank made out of a 45 gallon plastic oil drum
Do you think it will work? or just someone never used it before and just trying to get to many viewing on YT

Those blue drums are brilliant, and cheap too. Just be aware of how much (localised) weight you're hanging off your trailer floor.

Give a little thought to a gauge of some sort, and getting the breather up high

I would say 200KG full. I wonder if a couple of small ratchet strap would hold it

What kind of gauge would you have in mind? How high should the breather be? How do you stop the smell? Could I use the U bent from a kitchen sink?

So what about the drainage whole then?

Do you think this will work?

What about the 19mm inlet, is there room for a commpesion fitting to fit on the end of the pipe?

I would bolt a flange onto the top of the waste tank with a 1 1/2 " threaded hole and the fitting I poster would screw into the flange.

a 19mm compression fitting will not fit again a simple hose as Angus posted pushed on with a worm drive clip clamping the hose in place

The fitting on the flush tank could be done the same with a flange and 19 mm screwed into the flange

As to gauge Isimply fitted a float switch in the top of the waste tank so a light and buzzer sounded when the tank was getting full

You may find this video useful if you've not used one. The cheaper version is a direct copy, I assume that any patents have expired so they just ripped it off in which case parts will be interchangeable (that's a guess!)

Any electrical equipment supplier in the UK I would use RS Components but there are many others

images

This is from RS Components similar to the one I use

The first link you post; they look like top or bottom flout switches. i.e they are mounted to the floor or wall or the tank
But dont we need something as a warning before we get to a full tank (half way maybe) and by full in this instance I mean the float switch being less then 1/2" off of the top of the tank wall?

If you wish you can have any number and positioned at various heights

https://za.rs-online.com/web/p/float-switches/3488021

You can set this type to various heights as many as you wish
The photo in the link is completly different to the one you supplied in the thread!

But in the link the description states "The RSF66 series comes with a 1m standard cable length with flying lead. It is a four core PVC cable." that dose not look like you have a meter of free play to choise where you want to place your float switch in the tank because the metre coil is above the threads. Infact it dose not even list then length of the tube for the float switch to go up and down on

But the one in the photo looks like one of those boat pump out switches like this one
https://cpc.farnell.com/triton-cont...3081&s_kwcid=AL!5616!3!605262956779!!!network}!2144669031752!&gclid=CjwKCAiA7t6sBhAiEiwAsaieYh3Zd3MsLeEuQwFynKUjlfEgGAbh96NcrUMGv7bTSaegst-oHCJbExoCFPsQAvD_BwE

On the photo you supplied, there is some kind of blue thing above it on the coil. What is this? Is it a mounting point to clamp and seal it to the top of the tank allowing you as much free play of wire in the tank you want?

Those blue float switches work the same way by using a mercury tilt switch the switches whe the float lifts up.\

The ones I poted the pic do the daane thing but the float moves up and down the shaft and is retained. The switch is done with a read switch in the shaft and a magnet in the float.

Th advantage if the latter is the is no flexing of any cable that could cause the cable to break unlike the blue tilting float switch

I have used both for different applications and find the latter one less of s problem

But dose the one in the photo allow you to change how high or low you can set the float switch in the tank?
Do you have a link to where you can buy the one in the photo please?
