Marina at Jaywick ?

One of the old salts at my club told me this story.
A new marina is to be built a Jaywick Clacton.
As it is a deprived area ,the local council wants to bring money to said area.
Any one heard anything? also what do you think?.

Forgot to mention.
My wife has a friend who has a caravan at Seawick.
She also confirms, that she has heard they want to build a brand new marina at Jaywick..
Thought they were all "P...ys" there

Assuming that it is to be the seaward side of Jaywick then wouldn't this need something akin to Brightin Marina? This sounds a bit unlikely. (I always liked the idea of Clacton Marina along these lines). So maybe they are intending to extend the various breakwaters along that stretch of coast to make something suitable for small craft.

Hmmm I have my doubts!

More a case of wishful thinking than any likely reality.

I used to work for the local rag some 28 years ago, and there were 'strong rumours' about a new marina to be built at Jaywick even then.

Lets be honest though...the security set up shore side would cost twice as much as the building and develepment of the damn thing!

Back in 1998 when I moved my first 'proper' boat from the South Coast to the delights of Blackwater Marina, they had a newsletter which promised that Margate marina was coming soon....

what about one on rainham marshes

now that would be handy , for me at least , a over winter place 10 mins away
from home instead of a hr .
