Marina annual renewal

I too am leaving Premier at Gosport; I have to say the mooring fee went down slightly for the coming year but they now charge for electricity. My main gripe is that I have been aground on my berth for several years now and have had a stream of excuses as to why they could not dredge my part of the marina. Therefore it felt like a slap in the face with a wet fish when suddenly they could dredge out the whole of the southern end to accommodate the Clipper Fleet; also I will not miss queuing for a shower and having parking difficulties every time we have a nice weekend. However, in some ways I am sorry to move; the staff are generally great and I have a nice bunch of neighbours, but clearly the top management don't give tuppence for the long suffering berth holders and I am not surprised to see so many forumites moving elsewhere.

But how do you get there?

Loads of destinations in France look attractive if you can get there from home quickly and cheaply. But ferries to Brittany seem to be a lot more expensive than they were 10 years ago.

If you can stand flying with O'Leary, la Rochelle has plenty of berths, les Minimes alone has 1800 and there are another 23 marinas within daysail distance.

My winter berth @ Marans cost me the equivalent of £25/month in 2002.
