Does anyone know of a mail receiving outfit in the Caribbean, one that I could
have my mail forwarded to?

depends where you go

david jones in road town tortola (bvi) provides a service for a subscription which includes weather routing and message relay. try http://www.caribwx.com

there is an office in st maarten (dutch side) which specialises in mail and has a courier service which posts mail in the usa. it's called 'the mailbox' and is in the la palapa complex at simpsons bay.

your best source if info is chris doyle's guides - sailor's guide to the windward islands & cruising guide to the leeward islands. both are must-haves.

I've used the central post office 'Poste Restante' service in both Barbados and Antigua successfully. The service is claimed to be reliable. There is a small charge per item, but also a storage charge if it gets left several days. You do have to know when to expect something and be there as they don't hold it for long, a couple of weeks from memory. Plus letters are frequently mis-sorted, for example addressed to: "Mr John Smith, Yacht Carpe Diem, Poste Restante, Bridgetown, Barbados", could end up under any of M,J,S, or even the yacht name.
