I need a small amount of thin mahogany (or similar colour/grain) veneer 3-4mm thick and about 200mm x 120mm. Also some (solid) trim to go around it to fill a hole where an old radio was removed. Have googled extensively but cannot find anywhere that supplies this. Any help appreciated,

Unless you are refacing the whole panel you will never hide it… have you considered fitting a cubby or glove box to the whole?

You won't get veneer that thick. Normal veneers are typically 0.6 to1mm or unfinished, sometimes called constructional veneers either 1.5mm or 2.5mm. The link in post#3 is a good source. However the size you require is very small but you may have luck with WVH ordering a sample. The standard sample size is too small but they do offer larger samples to order.. Glue it onto 3.6mm ply which you can get from B&Q using gorilla glue and well clamped down. The photos show 1.5mm solid Sapele veneer on 9mm ply and 0.6mm paper backed American White Oak on 3.6mm ply. Plenty of suppliers of hardwood mouldings, but again you small quantity means you will have to search for someone who will supply a small quantity.

If you can visit someone who does veneering you may be able rummage in their scrap bin and get a small amount and be able to match as close to the colour you wish
