Lubricating Backstay Adjuster

Hi All

I have a Wichard ratchet backstay adjuster on my boat. It seems to have got a little stiffer than when it was originally fitted and I wondered what the wisdom is in terms of lubricating these devices?

Any lubricant will do. Just get it into the thread and mechanism. Winch grease should be Ok and you may have it on hand.

Probably not a bad idea to get rid of the ganky old lubricant first with some paraffin or the likes, just like you clean winches.
Hint to self: support the mast first...
