Hi, I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for information on lowering the radar arch on a Cranchi Endurance 39. I am in the USA and need to transport it from New York City to upstate New York by truck and it will be overheight unless the radar arch can be lowered. The boat is beind sold at auction so that I cannot get information from the auction company. The dealers here have been useless and dont seem to know squat about the boat other than engine size and how many it can sleep. So far the boat is sight-unseen so I have not had the opportunity to see what might be needed to lower the arch, and won't have the opportunity until I am onsite to move the boat. I am trying to be prepared before I arrive to move the boat. Any insight, contacts, sketches, anything at all that would help, is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi geotek,

Firstly good choice on the boat!

Yes the arch can be lowered but it's not a five minute job. If I recall the arch is hinged. There are only 2 large thumb screws that need to be undone and then the arch should fold down. You may need to disconnect any electrical wires first, particularly if equipment has been added to the arch like a Radar, TV/VHF etc as these will probably have been installed without enough slack to fold forward.

I'd recomend calling Richard at Abersoch(UK importer) on +44 2392 201506

I can just tell you that the boat used to be delivered with the arch lowered, with the local dealers taking care of the final installation.
Therefore, I would expect the job to be reasonably easy.
For the very same reason, I'd suggest to ask one of their authorized dealers for any technical trick.

Thank you both for the information, I haddent thought about there not being enough slack in the wiring. Would you happend to know if Richard has an email address? Thank you again
