Looking forward to Boot Dusseldorf this weekend

Yup the chipmunk was fine once we cleaned out the carb and WD40ed the distributor cap. Actually it was the Canadian competitor product, not an actual chipmunk, so not as good but same kinda thing.

On boards, it seems everyone wants foiling, which is why I didn't even bother with the convertible product that Elessar has a picture of above. That one was €5k more and had lots of screws.

Gotta say, not seeing much enthusiasm at this end for solent training and the distraction of tides/rain, but will let you know how that thinking develops...

Med/Thailand not mutually exclusive. Med now with the 55er and 90 minute flights, then Thailand later when Sytner give you £100m for the business and you get the x-80/Horizon 90 or whatever :)
I admire your optimism. Sadly I’m not that good !

No worries on the training. Keep us in mind should anything change. S is not looking to cross oceans but something zero pressure in good company sounded ideal.

My Dad recalled to me an incident when he was in RAF where an officer brought a Spitfire to land but his usual plane was a Chipmunk. As he came into land my Dad and his mates were watching and noticed he hadn't lowered his undercarriage. The conversation went something like, "he hasn't put his wheels down yet". "He might crash". "He's crashed" as he flopped down the runway. His nickname (behind his back) became Chipmunk Charlie.

Now that's certainly not unattractive. Though the padded 'headboard' with the round mirror above in what I assume is the owners cabin, is a bit 'motel' for me. Teak looks great. It looks like leather has been wholesale replaced by fabric now?
This is the Chair of Azi/Bennetti’s own boat. Runs on chicken sh!t as her contribution to CO2. So some interesting options selected. The most interesting being the shower on the fly bridge, positioned to soak guests/furniture etc. It’s not like the boat doesn’t have sufficient showers. Actually, this is a really nice boat.

From a distance it looks a cracking boat but certainly that master cabin would want to be a bit less Librerace for me. The rest I rather like (as I say, from a distance.)

As has been mentioned the boat is actually about a year old and owned by the Chair of Azimut. It actually runs on used chip fat rather than chicken droppings. Whilst I appreciate materials can be chosen to suit the general level of the fit out will remain constant. Given the owner you would hope this one is as good as it gets, but maybe they use it as a bit of a training exercise ?

Finally I got to take something home from Boot... A good old fashioned cold, 🤧🤒 and the wife's backache has turned out to be her Crohn's disease resurfacing, but that was nothing to do with Dusseldorf.

At least I got something out of the trip :ROFLMAO:
Well I got more than I bargained for, another dose of Covid, and we have a full house tonight for the Burns Supper 😷 only just found out when I could not taste the Whisky so then took a test and a positive result.
Boot, the show that keeps on giving!
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::oops:🤧

A huge indoor show with participants from all over the world....if you got your infection from there it could start a new wave

Me too. I tested positive today and I was at Boot on Saturday and Sunday. I had a bit of a head cold when I flew over. Felt okay on Monday and Tuesday but still had a cold. Yesterday and today I’ve been flattened with it.

The one area of the show which disappointed a bit was the ”pixel” camera / filming area. I’d seen this mentioned pre-show but it didn’t list on the rather clunky interactive guide. I was hoping for drones, under water filming, still camera options and so on. The reality was very little of the above. If it was there I missed it.

Yep! About '79, loved waddling out to the aircraft with the parachute strapped to your A55
I was about 9 years before that, RAF Turnhouse now Edinburgh Airport, taking off and flying over the Forth Bridges, wish I had a camera back then :)
Then a few years later from Wick airport in Cessna 150/152 usually flying to Kirkwall for lunch and a refuel, actually quite liked the 150 Aerobat the club had, sufficient power and a sportier feel to it compared with the ordinary 150 - and no parachute needed to be worn :)
