Now that I am living in Australia and have my boat in the UK I need to find winter storage ashore from early October to late May (8 months).
This was no problem in the Baltic where the season is short, but I am finding that few marinas can offer long term storage as they need the storage areas for car parking in the spring.
My boat is 11x3.9x2 which restricts me from some of the smaller / shallower locations.
I would also prefer a cradle rather than wooden props.

I am somewhat flexible on location as my intention is to finish this season with a cruise to Devon / Cornwall and spend next summer exploring Ireland and Scotland.

So west country would be ok or I am ok to return to Solent area.

Does anyone know of yards that specialises in storage or that might accommodate me?

Davis's Boatyard in Cobbs Quay, Poole will do it. Modest prices compared with the Solent and all fin keel boats in yard supplied cradles. Alternative but a bit more remote is Ridge Wharf on the River Frome near Wareham. Accessible on a spring tide with your draft - many even bigger boats stored there and cheaper than lower down in the harbour.

If you can consider Thames Estuary, try Mariners Boatyard at Gillingham.

I haven't been there for a few years but it used to be an excellent place for longer economical layups.

Try Clarkes Boatworks at Portland ( though not sure about cradles ). Ridge or Redcliffe Wharves at Wareham relatively low cost but draught might be a problem. Or try Southdown marina near Plymouth or Pascos Boatyard at St Just-in-Roseland.

For a couple of days more, finish your cruise in Scotland, and you will seriously be able to take your pick. All boatyards that I know of can accommodate your boat in a cradle (apart from maybe Dumbarton and Rothesay Dock [in the River Clyde]) prices will be cheaper and you will be best placed to start your cruise next season. No brainer IMO.

Ok Tighnabruaich boatyard and a couple of others of the smaller yards e.g. Kilcreggan won't supply a cradle.

Returning to this old post to advise that I used Hayling Yacht Company for my winter storage for the last two years.
I can only get there on a spring tide so rather limited access but found the team there helpful and friendly and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
I was too big for Wicor.

You could try Voyager boatyard, Plymouth. Had Paean there for some repairs last year. Basic place and Id say a lot of the boats don't move off the hard that often.
