Had a rough trip from Torquay to Dartside Quay yesterday - blowing F5-7, so no match for Andy Bav's picture!

Hull has fine slime, which is comng off easily with pressure wash

But look at those trim tabs - mass of weed and gelatinous lumps suggest Interspeed Ultra is not much good.
I would upload some more, but computer says 'No'. I am sure there is a way to do this, but I am off to get cleaning shortly.

Question: I am planning on giving the Coppercoat a rub down with very fine Wet 'n Dry or Scotch Pad before relaunch. Is this orrect?

Yes Rodney
It was a little lumpy yesterday but I enjoyed helping taking her over Dartside.

If its any help, this was the state of our Coppercoat this year
Lift was mid April - last cleaned early September last year.

Essentially, the Coppercoat is working well but, as usual, we still haven't cracked the metalwork treatment!!
Strangely, there was a small 24 inch long section on the port shaft of the old antifoul still left from last season.
You can see it in this pic
It didn't stay long - the pressure washer took it off on one blast.

This will be our third season with Coppercoat
Last year, I chose to do very little - no rubbing down.
This year, I bought some of these pads http://www.mailspeedmarine.com/deck...~27614229968&gclid=COvu4NyNnL4CFaXHtAodajsA_Q
The brown ones are the coarsest.
I bought a long handle and attachment device but in the end, an old plastic handle with cable ties to attach the brown pad worked best.
The idea was for one person to hose whilst the other scrubbed
In reality, one person with the hand scrubber and a bucket of water would work well.
Visually, this scrubbing didn't seem to do much but after it had dried, the bottom looked great
I'm really quite pleased with Coppercoat - it isn't as good as standard antifoul but much easier to maintain.

This is the finished job ready for relaunch after two seasons in the water.

Hey Rod. No, just jetwash. Abrade only when the performance starts to drop off. 6th year maybe.

Our experience is that a run over with a 3m green scouring pad is a good route to go. do not overdo it, but it seems to have worked for us when we 'rough up' the surface before relaunching. But we are a silly slow moving 'stickie'
