London boat show

Agree with you totally but not being a d..k - For me it just a bit off banter and gets the forum moving ;)

Anyway we will be there shortly making maximum use off our free parking - complimentary tickets and champagne @ Sunseeker, Princess and Failine :D:D

I have to bribe swmbo somehow to come along and the champers definatelly does the trick every time ;)

Had a catch up with the MOA, sorted out ( I think) some boating for next year and had a lunch sat a table with virtually no-one else around.

Went on Saturday. Had a brilliant day. Chatted to friends and looked at boats. What's not to like? :D Oh yeah, it was only 1 hour 50 door to door and that's from Oxford and not hurrying.

Sorry to have missed you yesterday BJB, we had intended to come up, but in the end we went today instead. It was undoubtedly quiet today, but good fun nonetheless. Really liked the Princess 52, works much better in the flesh than expected. And the Princess 82 was spectacularly good, although a touch over my pay grade. Hour and twenty mins from Brighton by pickup truck and easy to park.

We went today very quiet for a Sunday got all the bits I wanted and a bit more, went on the new sunseeker 40 nice boat but needs a few boaters needs to make it practical
.
Have a friend who lives opposite so parking is easy just walk over the bridge. It's a good show but I can't see it lasting, big lack of yachts I thought, not that I look at them and a lot of smaller stands.

We also went today, very quiet for a Sunday we thought. Plenty there for a good day out, but fewer boats again than last year, in fact fewer of everything. Dockside was disappointing IMO.. mostly empty space. Loads of space at the eateries. Really liked the V39 (again), IMO the best of the 40' hardtop bunch. Liked the new San Remo though...

Hour and five minutes home to Haywards Heath by Jag :D and yes loads of empty parking space right underneath.

Agree with your comment about outside - I thought the used boat section was a big success last year, and I was expecting them to have done more with it this year. Shame that there was so little there.

Not wishing to continue or inflame the ongoing debate about costs !!!! But as an example I am in the USA just now and in the hotel there is a "hunting" exhibition going on, lots of companies selling there wears and lots to look at etc, etc but not a fraction of the size of either of the boat shows... The cost for a day ticket is $100 a head !!!!!!!! and seriously there is a Que out the door to get in....:confused::)

car parking at the show

just tried to pre pay car parking for tomorrow but for some daft reason they wont let me do that now. Can you still pay for car parking at the onsite excel car park with a credit/debit card or do I need to find £15 in £1 coins ?
