London boat show

Rubbish.

Princess spot me free tickets and parking every year as well as a cup of tea and a Hobnob.

Henry :)

Hugely disappointing lack of hobnobs on the Fairline stand this year, although they did try to make up for it with pringles...

Cheers
Jimmy

PS Henry, what did you think of the P52?

Sorry not to see you on Saturday.

PS ditto, will you be down in SoF over the summer again? I've got flights booked for most weekends from Easter to October, so perhaps we'll get the chance to coincide in PV again? I've heard a rumour that there might be a small 'arrival' party on Mole Sud sometime around June...

Cheers
Jimmy

Spooky...

Not sure what our movements in France are this year. Probably a week at Easter. Maybe a week in August. Might just get on a flight for the event you mention...if invited. :D

Pringles ?

A very poor substitute indeed. On that basis alone I have to declare myself out. One can only guess at the substitutions made in construction if they think Pringles are crisps.

Last year Princess had kettle cooked crisps for those unable to enjoy their selection of fine English baked biscuits. I believe the Belgians produce Pringles from leftovers whilst making their meat free pork sausages.

Make sure JFM checks that tub he's having built for old car tyres :)

I'm sure Roger Lipman will have a culinary treat waiting for me on arrival at the Princess stand.

I haven't seen the P52 yet, hoping to get to the show on Friday. On paper I've decided I'm not going to like it. I shall let you know.......

Henry :)

Should have bought a Sunseeker chaps.

Champers, plus all other types of booze as well as a cracking range of sandwiches,as well as tea and coffee.

Plus of course free entry and valet parking.

What's not to like from the paper?

On the flesh, the boat is fab

Actually I'm with Henry, I thought the galley at the back of the saloon wouldn't work when I first saw the layout, but actually the net result, which is to move the seating forward and raise it slightly, plus all the glass, is very good. You're obviously losing the separate dinette but in other ways you can really see how this would work in practice. The only thing that didn't work for me was the sunpad on the flybridge, it's too small. Apart from that, very nice, if you like cardigans.

Cheers

I always wondered what the cup holders on a Fairline was really meant to be used for - Thanks for sharing this little gem with us the cat is now well and truly out off the bag - PRINGLE HOLDERS so you guys feel right at home :D:D

Doug - It's a shame we don't do yachts as we are all missing out big time on the treats they give out to their clients - Shiphams crab meat flavoured sandwiches and a mug off your favourite tea before you get the bus home after buying your new pride of joy and we have to put up with the other lifestyle - life is so unfair :D

Searush will be along soon to say that Raggies can only afford bread with dripping on and that they save their crusts for the poor yacht exhibitors.:)

Jimmy, cardigans were so last year. In 2013 Princess owners are wearing Snoods when in colder climes.

I heard that Horlicks have done a deal with Fairline to fit their "mighty malt" range of cup holders. Apparently the first batch were heading to somewhere around Antibes in the south of France :)

As you say Jimmy I wasn't sure of the rear galley when I saw plans. I'm looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

Henry :)

Just wondered if anyone has a discount code that will still work online for the boat show tickets.
We bought four but have an extra person that wants to come. (Son's Girlfriend :) awwwwww. ;)

Went to the show Saturday and was surprised at how good the day was. I found the hall had visitors interested in boats and not so many tyre kickers.

Good day out for those local to London.

Ah and to cover other posts. I went over the Princess 52, where I too was not sure about the aft galley but in fact it worked fine, and I thought the accomodation was amazing for such a size boat, the glass windows opening up the whole area. Boat already sold so I kept my hands in my pockets, thank goodness. But it was a well designed example of modern design with traditional values.

Who do you think pays for all that :)
