living aboard

Are there not river moorings in the deben or the orwell for liveaboards. I would certainly explore up both rivers to see if there are aquatic residents outside of marinas. You might have to supply your own shore power, but marina charges are just silly especially if you have no joy in binning their 1.5x

I certainly would not consider a cat if that is the only way forward, but IMHO 30' in a mono is just too small for a liveaboard especially if you have problems with your back, and are as tall as you are.

We have Pin Mill, well known for Barges and liveabords but it's a bit muddy and you have the issue of tide restrictions etc, at least at the Marina where we are we can stay afloat and get out when we want, so there is good and bad points to consider.
In the meantime we keep looking.

When did the mark 2 come in? Is the users association on the net. My wife still hates heeling and maybe a catamaran would please her - also would fit in the canal du midi...
Are there any interior layout plans around? - Is the double bunk really a double?

Apologies for the mistake, but in that case I tend to agree with others that you should buy bigger if you possibly can. The old maxim of 1ft for every year of your life is an exaggeration, but contains a kernel of truth. With back problems you will of course need standing headroom throughout - and in my experience, a really decent berth.

The whole issue is becoming increasingly more difficult with the tendency to increasing our budget much higher then first planned. Now making inquiries about a Persuit 34 priced at £29,950 Ex Tax, which i take would be VAT @17.5%, this would take the asking price just over £35.000. The boat can be seen at WWW.nhorizon.co.uk. Your opinions on this would be nice, especially the price etc. I am waiting to hear from the seller/broker with more details.
