Libs, a brokers view

Went outside about 19.45 on thursday night. Late opening until 21.00. Discovery had a private party hosted by the owner! Dufour were waiting for someone to return (to lock up?) Delphia's all locked up!

Why have a late opening night or is it for the exhibitors to have a drink up and get together and not for the punters!

existing owners getting in the way of us genuine punters(!),

In fairness it is a BOAT SHOW. people have paid (even a freebie ticket from a broker is paid for indirectly) for the right to see the boats.

I went both saturdays. The first was really enjoyable and we stayed there from 11-19.00. The second Saturday was so crowded I was knackered by 14.00 and lost the will to 'book an apointment' to get on some of the more popular AWBs. Is that a predictable patern for LIBS and/or other shows; last saturday most busy?

ps, I managed not to barge past anyone!!

Re: \"Paying in Cash\"

Such taxes have been introduced by other governments, some of them not too far from here.

Friends of this government always ensure that "personal assets" are owned by a corporation which gives them use as payment in kind.

It is not outside the bounds of likelihood that a politician with the philosophy of GB will see "stinging the rich as a life mission.

I thought the show was good too and well worth the visit.

John you are a "one man Dufour whirlwind" I hope they are paying you a lot because you are doing more to raise their profile than the rest of their corporate advertising put together.

I did think of wasting some of your time on the stand but you were clearly busy!

Re: MY loss of weight....

I agree; signposting was abysmal. Stands should be required to display numbers and there should be some overall indication of which block you are in (the block in which you are?)

No plans for a test of the SP Cruiser yet but there could be - whether it will be in YM or Motor boats Monthly Im not sure.

Seconded. We gave up trying to find some stands after several laps of the hall - SWMBO was getting "fractious" and I wanted my Guinness... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Again, I heartily agree. Exhibitors are required by their contracts to keep their stands manned throughout opening hours and to my mind this does not include having loads of stand staff drinking the company profits - that's the job of journalists on press day.

Got a bit fed up with salesmen saying "Can I help you"..... 5 times in the space of 5 mins on the Honda stand. I felt like saying "Yes, you can give me your wallet"

I know it's sales tactics, but I woz only looking

I said on our stand that next year we should have a sticky badge system offered to visitors before they come aboard.

Green- just looking, dreaming, or seeing what I'm chartering in the summer.

Amber- Serious look, but don't want to speak to anyone unless I call them.

Red- Very interested, want lots of info and a boatshow deal.
