Lewmar hatches - Rivets!!

Anyone know the size and type of Rivets used by Lewmar on their Ocean hatches (mid nineties vintage). I have one completely gone and others that look dodgy... cheers,

Don't know the size but make sure you use monel metal rivets to prevent corrosion.

Drill one out and pick a size that gives a snug fit?

Thanks for the advice, I had figured that SS would be a mistake cheers

Had problems renewing the rivets on mine because the rivet is small and set in a small recess which is too small for the head of the rivet gun.

managed to overcome the problem by drilling out the centre of a grub screw that was just the right size to fit down the small recess I was then able to set the rivet. If the picture comes out it may be clearer.

How do you post an image

PlankWalker,

if you have access to a set-up like photobucket - and adequate access is free, just google them and set up an account - you use the 'find' fuction there to search and select from 'my pictures' on your pc.

Once the image is on photobucket, right click on it 'copy image location'.

Carry that over to here, and left click so the cursor is at the end or wherever you want the image to appear.

Select the yellow icon in the toolbar second from right, like an envelope, left click.

It will have a short blurb in highlighted blue, clear or ignore that.

Right click in the address space, a long URL will appear.

Click save.

Sounds a right pain but fine when you're used to it.

How do you post an image

Use "Go Advanced" when you post thread or reply to post. Then under Additional Options use Attach Files/Manage attactments, so you load images (Small) direct from your HD.
