In the glove post the inference seems to be that wearing gloves is less than manly.

I disagree. I do find quite a few modern sailing trends a bit sweet though.

Wind instruments ( no Jimi, not the Pipes ) showing speed and direction, for example.

Fender hooks, they're a bit suspect too.

Anyone else got anything that if they spot it on a neighbouring boat makes them look askance?

What are fender hooks?

Having just had the topsides repainted I'm considering 'skirts' to stop fender marks - would they be considered 'less than manly'?

pillows, gas-lighting contraptions, any form of alarm clock, houseplants, occasional/patio furniture are all out for a start.

I agree the giggle bout gloves is a bit daft tho. UNLESS they are driving gloves, worn in cars, of course.

Yes I agree, the surface of the car park is rather inhospitable especially if tarmac - better to go for disturbed ground or preferably subsoil to reduce competition from noxious weeds and aggressive grasses. I sow at a rate of 3-5 grams per metre ideally including annual poppy and corn marigold (sic) for instant effect as well as longer term perennials such as ox-eye daisy.
Then sit back and enjoy!

No no no no no! You haven't been paying attention!
The creeping Ranunculus is far too invasive and will tend to take over crowding out the more delicate flowers.
Stay behind after school.
