Driving this Belgiqn keyboqrd not too easy! 16 hour crossing, for Vreny and Magna carter (ok so they waited for us a bit) very lumpy downwind crossing but glad to get here. Weùre heading south to dunkirk tomorrow, saying goodbye to magna carter who will probably try to make middleberg.

went over in a nnw3 ish on thursday ended up whole trip on iron topsl.
the highlight was we saw dolphin ( mel my crew 30 + trips it was his first sighting )
friday was a wash-out high winds + rain, new sun awning very usefull indeed.
weather resulted in a "Duval" lunch in thr R.N.S.Y.C. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
saturday by far the best day with a good show by Oostende, hosting the maritime festival once again. a real good turn-out of boats of all shapes n sizes + loadsa marching bands /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.
meal with the "Gaupa" crew sat evening fine moules + friet.
R.N.S.Y.C. ran out of

Greetings from Middleburg...

We slipped SYH at 0315 on Saturday and had an excellent trip to Ostende, all but the first two hours or so under sail, and took us about 12 hours to the Ostende entrance (once again delighted with the boat!!).

We elected to go to Vlissingen yesterday, and had a superb downwind run under poled-out jib and prevented main, even resorting to shorts as we ran at about 7 kts in bright warm sun.

We motored up the canal to Middelburg this morning, and will have dinner with the crew of Onia this evening. Sorry to hear that the others are not planning on continuing the trip - but we're glad we've made the journey and look forward to some good relaxation and sailing, though it looks as though we may be motoring back (if the Friday forecast is to be believed so early in the week and with such uncertainty about what the High is doing).
