Not on boat but do I need to order the flat type LED bulbs to replace the 5W interior halogen bulbs or will the hexagonal bulbs fit?

I assume 1W LED are adequate. boat is Jeanneau.

I've replaced all my bulbs with LEDs from www.boatlamps.co.uk. Have a look at their website and there is bound to be a direct replacement. I am chuffed to bits with mine - much brighter and a tiny fraction of the current draw of the previous bulbs.
No connection with boatlamps other than a satisfied customer!

Hello Sailfree. I see you are getting down to the real details of converting her to a liveaboard cruiser!
On our 43DS Aldabaran (we met in Guernsey last year), I converted to LEDs using boatlamps - excellent products and excellent service (no links, just very satisfied customer)

For the 22 normal lights, I used G4-12LED-Side pin-WW-D09.
For the 9 switched down lighters, I got new switched downlighter units from boatlamps, carefully took out the reflectors and put in more of the G4-12LED-Side pin-WW-D09 bulbs.
So that was 31 G4-12LED-Side pin-WW-D09 bulbs...
For the 7 horizontal swivel lights, again you need to take out the internal reflector, and then G4 15SMD Micro LEDs WW D10 will just fit fine.

Worth the cost.

Hello Sailfree. I see you are getting down to the real details of converting her to a liveaboard cruiser!
On our 43DS Aldabaran (we met in Guernsey last year),

I was really impressed with your boat last year. Thanks for further advice.

Have finally retired and managed a quick refusal to an unsolicited phone call from an agent asking if I was interested in a new Project managers job!

Already copied your SS engine cooling duct ends - used stainless steve as you recommended.

Tried the fit of the 200 thick pocket sprung mattress last night - fantastic - eat your heart out!!

New sprayhood fitted. Converted Bimini hood/cockpit tent having some minor adjustment. New off white leather saloon interior being made.

New heads fittings and thro hull fitting done last winter.

New holly/teak cabin sole will be a winter project.

I guess its going to be like the Forth Bridge an ongoing project.

Leaving in early July for 6 wks - destination Morbian.
