Leather shoe-laces

[ QUOTE ]
how have you seen my undies? Mithril anyway, not gold brocade lace, and you need Mithril in these parts. Flame proof you see.

I just assumed, honest. Anyway, you should've learned by now not to use a match to light your cigarette after eating all those beans.

agree with you. If somebody wants to get their shoes all smelly and horrible, thats up to them, I would prefer to be comfortable, warm and slightly less smelly, and if anybody doesnt like it they can go jump of the pontoon.

There was a series about knots in S.T. a year or two back;one of them was for leather deckie laces.
IIRC - begin the knot as normal, form the first loop, then pass the end round twice before forming the second loop. Needs to be worked a bit until it is tight.

Must be the leather used. Been a C17th re-enactor for 24 years and not noticed a regular problem with laces. Straight square thong, no chrome glaze or any of that modern nonsense. I could probably find some for any real sufferers in return for a couple of quid to the RNLI.

[/ QUOTE ] Did they wear thongs in the 17th C.?
No wonder they were all grumpy.

Didn't realise they used laces

Frequently nowt at all. Unless you were a chap, or rich. Research has been done...:-)

Some of the ladies claim it gives a certain feeling of slightly naughty freedom.
