From a caravan chatroom.

"having travelled en France many times, I've always been under the impression that when one is done with the empty gas bottle at the end of the trip, it needs to be returned to the same store (Though not always the same address) to get your Deposit back for the bottle.
- eg. we always buy our Butagaz "Le Cube" from the Carrefour in Calais as soon as we land and we always return it to a Carrefour, Calais usually, as we leave."

Any good reason not to take my 2 x very empty Le Cube Butane bottles on cheap day trip to Calais , by ferry and return with two full ones.
This would combine a decent day out with enough gas to last me a year and also stick two fingers up to Calor Gas.
It would appear that many fuel stations and a Hypermarkets keep these bottle in stock....or do they ?
Just turn and buy ?
All comments and advice welcome.

Thanks everbody.
We are planning to go across La Manche in early summer with our boat , might try to hold on till then,do have full 907.
The clip in the link looks identical to one on the bottle at the moment. Will pop it off and look for the membrane.

That 513 fitting is just a valve, a tap, it does not regulate pressure; the inside membrane is there to let gas out only, once you take it off it allows two-way gas flow. If you are using your Cube with an oven/stove you must have a regulator: either it is integrated in the clip-on fitting (in which case it cannot be the one above), or otherwise it is connected between the Clip-on 513 and the appliance.
You would use the 513 fitting above for a solder gun, or a leaves burner, not alone on a stove.

I was given a 'cube'. That 513 fitting is just what I want to fill it and then use with standard Butagas regulater, of which we havec several. Thanks for the link and the tip about the rubber 'valve'. The threaded connection appears to be the standard left hand thread for regulators.

To add, there is another type of smaller bottle 6kg? that is made of GRP , so, like the cube, will not rust, a slight over the steel ones on a boat! Also, it has a 'window' so you can see how much liquid gas is left.
