Windy arent going to be there, showing in Germany instead. Anyone heard who else might not be putting up a stand ?

LBS - a dead show

Who cares? IMO LBS is a dead show - southampton is the UK show and the Germans have the money.

They killed LBS as a boat show - nothing to do with location but the format is just ****. It can't make up it's mind if it is a boat show or a stage show. Not worth the effort

Will not be there this year, nothing to do with the show more to do with their strategy.

We will of course be there but I might just pull out having read that its a dead show.....

Oh and that German show I just got my invite for the Beach Volley Ball tournament they are holding during the boat show.......not sure if I will attend as I may try and climb the fake tree to get the bananas at the top....Yes The Germans have fun and games at their shows too!

I will see the 100,000 of you that I predict will attend in early Jan.

Merry Christmas!

Not proud to say this...

But I doubt I will be going to LIBS this year. I used to really enjoy both shows, and still do enjoy SIBS. However, the pleasure for me is looking at different/new boats (power and sail I might add), having a poke around the wierd and wonderful and chewing the cud with kit suppliers and just generally keeping up with whats new.

SIBS is great for all those reasons, but I am afriad LIBS just has nothing for me anymore. I dont want to buy any chandlery, im not interested in the stage events - I just want to go and see lots of, well, boats. Most of the equipment stands are manned by dealers representing the manufacturers, so if you dont have your cheque book out they loose interest pretty quickly (for qhich I dont blame them incidently, just the way it is) and the there is never more than one or two new models. I will miss seeing the Mastercraft 300, as that looks really interetsing and is something I could be interested in buying but its a long trek to look at that when there seems to be so little else on offer. I saw the new Sunseekers, Fairlines and Princess at SIBS and frankly had a good look.

As last year, i am off to Dusseldorf for three days. For the record, I wont be going to see the stage events there either, or the volleyball, but there is simply a massive number of different boats that you dont see over here and that interests me. I'd love a look at the Marex 370 so highly praised in this months MB&Y. Is it in london? Nope. In fact, does the dealer even have one in the UK? Nope. Ah well, I look forward to having a chat with the Norwegen bods on the boat at Boot - best dig out the scandi phase book and make sure its packed...

was the Marex vs Nimbus price right? I was reading the mag a couple of days ago.. something like £200k more for the Marex?
And would anyone really want to have to have to walk down the boat from the main cabin for a pee?
The only phrase you need, Jez, is
Hvor mye skal du ha om jeg betaler kontant?

then you wont even need to take your cheque book !

We will be in hall 16D22.

Cheers

Ah, right, I see know

Excellent,

Well, will definitly see you there then. If you get the chance, route out the fried fish stand in one of the outdoor areas between the halls. Had it last year and it was excellent (even though it was raining).

I think you're right, Jez. We will go to LIBS simply because we live near London but it has become the same old same old. The same manufacturers in the same places and very little that is new. Here's a prediction. I reckon LIBS will be part of the Boat & Caravan show at the NEC within 5 yrs
We plan to go to Dusseldorf ourselves this time. Maybe catch up with you depending on dates?

It would seem so. Amazingly ambitious price considering it's got just a single engine and no bog for the master cabin, as you say. I can't understand why everyone's getting so excited about it. It's not as if the concept is new; sports cruisers with aft cabins have been around since the 1980's. Even Sunseeker did it with their Travado 40 and Camargue 46 models

Von Schiffen is always a good crack although I always spell and get the name wrong! but ask anyone and they will tell you where it is.
