iPad Charting Recommendations Please

So I wonder if some of the complaints about Navionics are partly user error? It appears that it recognises the iPad being in flight mode and doesn’t try to access the internet - which makes sense.

i think you might be right - if you connect to a local boat WiFi I think I’ve seen an error - because it has WiFi but no internet - but anyone embarking on a passage in remote places presumably wants to check for chart updates before they leave civilisation anyway. My tablet goes weeks between actual internet connections and I’ve never been unable to access Navionics. Perhaps the user advice could be clearer but thousands of people are using it every day without being stranded.
