Lazy Boater conundrum.....

Well as ever top forum boaty advice.
Thanks all for the hard work in replying to my quandary.
I was tempted by moving berth, but that would involve hassle and paper work (and I have only just paid for the one I'm in)
Delegation to others: have tried various children/friends children/complete strangers children over the years but they have all got wise to me now and demand monies upfront.

I think the winner is Grumpy_o_g.

Top lazy boating, even saves the stress and hard work of mooring stern too.

However as I have now bought a bottle of polish, I have resurrected the electric polisher from the garage and I am thinking about doing the whole thing. (With a bit of luck it might start raining though and I can put it off for another year - guilt free ;-) )

If we want to see shiny boats we go to boat shows. Spend enough time at one and you can OD on shiny boats, then you will welcome the reality of your own boat.
As for your new neighbor, whenever he turns up with his polishing rag, waylay him, chat to him, invite him for a drink onboard. Eventually his work will deteriorate

Be warned.

I’ve got a locker full of various polish potions. Almost every time I decide to get around to using one it’s a few years old and dried up, virtually unusable. I then order some more, which then gets dumped into the same locker with the inevitable same result several years down the line.

I've bought three new boats in my time. Whenever you get one you are presented with a small plastic case of boat polish, I’ve had three and never opened one:(

I, love to polish the boat , although there’s not much to polish topside wise that’s not got alwgrip on .
Netherthless it’s nice to see water globulate and the wax does I think offer some UV protection.
Also personal pride after every outing it gets a full rinse with fresh water and leathered off .
Hull gets a full pack wax at the annual haul out . Again love to see the globular water beeds .
I even purposely fly down for a day trip just to wash it every month in the winter.

I get a lot of compliments from strangers btw .
It’s the sort of boat that folks stop and stare and inevitably start a conversation , so pressures on to keep it spic and span .
As far as drinking time there’s usually a pastis or cold beer on the go as well
