Last outing

Re: ok then here we go.

i would think that there would be enough space that we could all get onto a boat but, if theres a problem, iv'e not got a problem with standing back and waiting for the flotila to return. unfortunatly my boat will probably not be ready....(get used to hearing this excuse!!) as the guy thats mending it has got loads of other work, so he's taking that up. we'll just have to play it by ear... we'll still have a good time, and enjoy the company... as it should be, the kids will enjoy it too. i know 'cos i'm one of 'em!

just turn up, you know it'll be a laugh!! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: ok then here we go.

I woud have thought that there'll be enuough room. Ok here goes the scoutmaster bit. Could all those not going with a boat please be sure to bring lifjackets so as no one will be without, ooh I like this, ther will be a few extras as I'll have some kiddies ones on board and a few spare adult sizes. Now children be sure to get your parenys to sign the consent forms and return to........ Well it is getting late!

Tides

There is some discussion below about the tides at Swanage on 14th December. Hopefully the chart below may assist.

Re: Tides

Right, serious post. I've sorted my bed for the 2 nights, had to plum for the Antelope Inn in the old High St, you lot nicked all the others. Mooring, what we doing about that. We all gonna go for the Haven and see if we can get a group thing or do it individually. If we try for a group thing then there's a chance all the berths will be in the same area. Whats your thoughts on that, anyone got contact details as directory enquiries seem to think I'm talking a different language!

Oh, BTW before I forget Duncan, got the top this morning thanks, I owe you for the postage tho, 5 first class seemed a bit OTT to me.

Re: Tides

I reckon your suggestion of a block booking in Dolphin Haven is the best. My 'home' is only a few yards up the channel, but, for security, it's all shut up tight at 7:30pm this time of year.

I'll almost certainly be going down to Poole this weekend, I'll call in at Dolphin Haven see what I can fix up. I think we're talking about 6 boats, between 6 and 10 metres.

Keep you all, um, posted!

Dolphin Haven

Think one of the keys to the booking would be that we are looking for the berths from about 1100 on Saturday through to Sunday morning - then we can use the area to 'collect' on the Saturday and as a general reference point during the trip.
BTW - who's the big boy with 10mtrs?!?
Another point - surely if KIM was to approach them about a small group of boats and a possible article around "Boats aren't just for the summer - with a good plug for Pole as a winter destination for the Solent boys".......and on the topic surprised we don't more Solent boats comming over that weekend. Richard_Moore - Mr Max where are you?

Re: Dolphin Haven

I had imagined that we'd meet everyone on the Quay, not much trip boat traffic this time of year. But you're right DH probably a better idea, easier to get on and off.

I think Col's Sunseeker is at least 10 metres, probably more, assuming you are still coming, Col (subject to weather).

I don't think Kim and his chums are particulary interested in us, the suggestion of bringing Calm Voyager along didn't get any response.

Re: Tides

Barry don't where he is ,or where he's going. All he knows is he's gotta get that engine fixed!

Re: Tides

Well I phoned 'em with the £44 a night deal that you told me about. The lady in America, (no I cant figure it either, but thats where the freephone number goes too) said that it was cost per person based on a double room. Got the Antelope instead, proper ENGLISH brekky and none of the continental bun and coffee rubbish!!

Re: Dolphin Haven

Still coming ( subject to weather ) Boat is 11.5mtrs.
Lookin' forward to it.

Re: Tides

Oh I'll get it fixed on time, playing with my taps and dies as we speak!! Should be running it up this weekend. Make sure all is well with it. I've got to go down on the friday, can you find out, if your down there, if they'll have a berth for me. Don't fancy leaving the boat on the quay at this time of the year with no one on it.

Re: Tides

Geoff, don't think there will be a problem with berth availability, but if you're going, could you "pencil in" how ever many boats are expected.
