Good Morning Mr Squeaky

Since arriving In Scotland from the middle East in 1946 I have struggled to understand the natives and even more so on people using forums or is it fora . In any case after all these years I have now decided to avoid the obfuscation and cut to the quick

so please tell me in your vast knowledge how large Turkish Gulets can arrive at small islands in Greece loaded with tourist s without seeming to connect with the port police or go through a passport rigmarole ? I would like to do the same Legally

The islanders tell me they dont spend any money being all in tourist packages and only drop rubbish and spend money in the supermarkets and shrug their shoulders saying " This is Greece "

Good morning:

I imagine you could do the same legally if you employed the services of an "agent" as I am sure that most of the large Turkish yachts and gulets do. I am sure that this would not be difficult using e-mail with attachments containing all the necessary details.

I suspect that you and Steve would rather complain about being mistreated instead of taking a few minutes to think or research before rushing into print with your negativity.

I don't understand where you got the idea that I have any vast knowledge concerning the operation of gulets - unlike you I just took a few minutes to consider the question before submitting snarky remarks however guess that is not a habit of yours as your posts seems to suggest that your outlook is primarily negative.

Cheers

Hello again Kind Sir
A lot of background thinking does occur before any post is placed . in the interests of brevity some times the logic is not outlined . Being a human being I like others am not perfect and occasionally reflect a negative attitude resulting for about 75 years of living on this earth and dealing with people who go off half cocked .
The Greeks have their DEKPA and possibly a cruising tax and my experience with the former is that once you leave you have to pay for another one if you want to come back or so I understand . I am aware that foreign flagged yachts with Turkish Cruising permits make short visits to islands like Simi avoiding passport control etc and seem to get away with it. I am not sure however how that applies to big tripper boats registered in Turkey which visit small Greek islands . I do know that the catamaran ferries berth in an enclosed area and go through pass port control in ports such as Kos . Rhodes and Marmaris . Perhaps they do stop of f at these big ports in both directions but it seems awfully inefficient particularly when the main destinations are only 10 to 15 miles away and I have never seen any gullets in the enclosed area in either Rhodes or Kos
So does anybody know what the legal route is for any size of boat crossing over to either side on short trips
