I have been getting great reports on them. Last year I bought a Commercial Strimmer from the same firm, these are normally about £800. I paid £140. My Gardener says its the best one he has ever had.
Don't worry about all the money going to China. You will be dead when they take over the world, let your Children and Grand Children worry about it.
Been a lot of discussion in the past, Pete, try a search. From memory most people that have them seem quite pleased. Bit different from Honda, the inverter models are yellow, non inverter red.
Off to Poole now /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Thanks Byron, I may just give it a go, my Honda EU10i is not quite poerful enough for the aircon so thos may do the job for the odd time I wat the reverse cycle heat or ice when not attched to shore power /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Hi Geoff, yes the Honda is the invertor type and the yellow 3kw one is the one I priced above, seems very cheap so may give it a punt, I remember you mentioned them in a conversation.
Off to Eastbourne now for a day of fun on the water with a very kind forum member /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I purchased one of their Juicers and my Maid is over the moon and reckons this is the best juicer she has had the pleasure to use! Not really!!! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)) a friend of mine has installed an air cooled version in his steel boat with remote panel etc and it runs like a train! the next phase is to build a "soundproof boxing" with an intake fan running from the power generated when its running, so its self ventilating.
RogerRat has one of these he bought at LIBS.
So far as I can tell he is dead chuffed with it and when I saw it running it was very quiet and certainly gave enough juice to power a toaster! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Just seems that the running time is only 4hrs, less than the 10 Honda quote. But if you are all saying they are OK I will take a punt, just need to be sure it will run the reverse cycle air con with 7000btu output.
Is yours red or yellow. I see that the red ones like the Honda's are not invertor type but the yellow more expensive ones are. Please also confirm it has the UK 3 pin plug on it, thanks.
I have the TC 3000 (red) Kipor suitcase generator. It's rated at 2300W continuous and 2600W for 30 Mins.
Running a 2kw fan heater a tankful of petrol, about 4 litres, lasts about 4 hours. If we are just using it for the microwave and other light loads it seems to last more like 8 hours on a fill.
It also charges batteries at 8 amps, while still supplying enough 240V to run the fan heater or kettle.
Considering the price I rate it as one of my best buys.
I find it quiet enough to be acceptable, especially on light loads, if it's been running for a few hours flat out it can get tiresome, I suppose any generator would.
It has a two year warranty, at the price, if it blew up after a year I wouldn't be too upset. (I paid £315 for mine off ebay)
The downsides : I have to top up the oil every time I fill it up. This may be because I wasn't careful with the running in procedure. I just flogged it to death from the start.
Sometimes after it's been run and left standing for a while, so it's neither hot or cold it can be a little difficult to start. But it has always started.
The only thing I seem to have blown up with it was a mobile phone charger.
I have been told that the feet are a bit fragile so care should be taken putting it down.
Have exactly that one Pete, cracking piece of kit, ran one of those twin plate, george foreman thingys for ages off it on Saturday. Like others would rate as one of my best buys too. P
Kipor mmmm great for power to cook yer breakfast in the morning you could progress up from toast wiv the Honda , to Kippers wiv the Kipor.
Did'nt I see they had one in that Nordhavn that went to dusseldorf in MBY recently?
fink that was a Kipper or was it a Halibut? ............it was something about fish cant remember now
Thanks for the help guys, I am buying a yellow 3000Ti on Friday, so will let you know how it goes.
Just don't know what to do with my nearly new low hour Honda Eu10i now /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Only upgraded to run the reverse (heat) air on the air con for the new boat.
Well Guv...(sucks teeth), only worth a tenner now. Been used, you see? Not much call for 'em nowadays. I'll do you a favour and stretch to 12 twelve quid. But, that's my final offer. That your Jumbo jet? I could do a deal Guv.
What's that? You're 'aving a laff, ain't ya? Sorry Guv, we don't do tanks.
