Kangaroo Court In Sesion.

Not a good idea, yet, IMHO they must be given a second chance to make good, surely, but of course Haydn could print out the thread and show it to them!!

Go on Haydn let me set the Wuffs at em, I know who they are, let me do abit of terrierism to their bright and sparkly marina (they wish) we could try the P & P routine first.....a nice big lump of you know what outside their office door every morning for a week or two! would do for starters.....then we'll go lookin for this ere kangaroo in their Ladies staff loo.....then...... aah go on Haydn lets get em!

Assuming, Haydn, that you intend to stay in this Marina for a while and that as you state, payment is not an issue then; it is worth getting the bod who wrote the letter and taking him to the boat to show, and more importantly prove, to him how the error occoured. Before you do this, tell him that you were only writing to inform and had not sought payment.

Reason for all this is that they obviously have some incompetents working there and the "next time" something happens could be a bigger problem for you. So by establishing that you are a reasonable chap when you have nowt to lose will stand you in good stead for the future and demonstrate that you are not one of those who willingly accepts crap service. (every boat owner has been one of these at some stage in their life, some never get out of it!) The legal position as I understand it is with them, they were responsible for the boat.

Forget the small claims court, it doesn't exist any more.

>>"forget the small claims court...it doesn't exist any more">>> ???

please explain.......the court service still describe a "small claims track" , so is there much real difference?

Oh. The small claims court still exists. I used it only a few weeks ago. And got results. Speakers If you remember. But this is different. It's defemation of charecture!! Much more seriousness needed. IMHO. So I'm going to waz her, hang her up by the G string. Hope it hurts!! She aint thrrashing my boat and getting away with it!! Shes going to get so much shit till..... Oh by the way being on the subject. Weve been very busy round ASDA and TESCO taking the string out of TAMPAX for your flags!! Hope you understand the nead for economy!!

Re: Small claims Court

It's what our (free helpline) legal bods tell me, apparently it's all dealt with in the County Court, just limited costs on certain amounts etc, think you are on the right track about "the track", will call them and get a definative answer. I never seem to get that far as being determined etc normally wins. Eg, bought SWMBO a new (blue metalic) car a few weeks ago and they delivered it with a big ding in the door. Under section...of the...19.. Act....and a few hard words they refunded my dosh. They wouldn't offer any compensation, just a respray, so I told em not paying for new car and accepting 2nd hand one.

Obtain large bottle of favorite tipple, drink approximately one sixth of bottle and phone boat cover people for cost of repair/replacement. Order repair/ replacement there and then.

Drink balance of bottle.

Later:

liase which cover people about fitting and pay for it.

Enjoy boat and new cover, be suspicious of boat yard for ever but say nothing more.

The memory will fade.
