Belt tensioner collapses belt shredded , no cooling then engine seizes.
Engine turns over and run briefly when cold.
No horrid noises.
Next step is ??????

Engine out and check pistons and bores. Presumably at least one had seized though free enough to run engine at tick over for mooring - I speak from experience - check the oil level as it will be used quickly. In my case all bearings were replaced and the full VP overhaul kit fitted. It took months, cost mucho dinero and left a hangover that took months to lift.
Good luck 😉

How was it determined that the engine seized? Was it run with the temperature alarms sounding and if so for how long? Could the failed belt not have caused the engine to stop suddenly by fouling the pulley?

Change the oil - it will have been cooked.
Then I would try running it and see if anything horrible is happening.

Some engines can withstand getting cooked for a while without too much internal damage.

If it does not run properly, don't try anything else and stop it right away.

It will need a strip down.

Thanks for all comments and suggestions.
Will being speaking to skipper of boat in next day or two.
Would doubt that the belts would stop the engine.

Interesting point.
The same happened to my KAD43 although the pulley demolished itself while on tickover after a run. The belt jammed itself and the engine stalled. Fortunately no overheating for me.

This.

If it runs smoothly after an oil change, you might have got away with it.

But mostly likely, not 😢
