KAD 300 problem - fuse blown- NOT the compressor fuse the other one

I would have thought the volvo DC DC converter of a KAD 300 would work fine too.

Looking at the marinepartseurope website, the Voltage converter that's the subject of this topic was only fitted to later KAD44 (KAD44P-C) and KAD300 engines. The earlier KAD44 variants (A and B) don't have the voltage converter which of course suggests that blowing EDC's was a flaw in earlier engines that was fixed with later variants.

In fact I seem to recall VolvoPaul saying something similar.

Just came across this old thread. I note that the DC/DC converter has been discontinued. Anyone know why this is? I assume the Victron would be somebody's best option now.

I doubt it , more like it’s changed part number , Volvo do this when they change supplier .
