I've been in and out of Schengen four times in the last five months and got a page and a half of stamps in my passport. Haven't noticed anybody at the borders counting up the days yet but I'm nowhere near the 90-day limit.

Sail to the Caribbean. You will get used to stamps in your passport?
We had two more years to run on our passports but they were full. Whilst we were back in the UK in the summer we did the trip to the passport office. We now have the ones with more pages. Hoping we can get a bit more life out of this passport.

Ive git quite a few stamps, the french seem particularly committed to wet- stamping …as they don’t seem too fussed about doing it neatly to get the maximum number of stamps per page, my passport is not going to last till it’s expiry date if it cont8nues…given how expensive and time consuming it is, and how long you can be without a passport, it could become a real concern

i Am presuming the electronic visa and entry process will obviate the need once rolled out and that I might get the full 9 years and three months on my passport that I paid a fee for

I don't think so. If you are British, you will likely still get a stamp in your passport when you visi the EU. Ask them to stamp neatly in the corner of a page. It worked for us in the Caribbean when we were running short of space

Got 18 EU stamps. Biggest concern is I'll need a new passport before expiry as page managemnt is not all one might hope for.
