JFM been out San Lorenzo’d

I have indeed! Sorry to miss that- I’m not in jersey atm. As a consolation prize i’m at sea steaming from Genoa to Antibes in glorious weather.

It’s a nice boat but there’s a huge mental thing in changing to a world of not being captain. I’m not ready for that so will have to “make do” with a smaller boat 😀

I don’t think I’d pick that colour or C32 engines for such a boat.

I see where you come from, but there's something to be said about commercial Cats (A, B and C ratings) - as opposed to what they call "high performance applications" versions (D, E - which are what you had on your Sq78s).
In fact, the C32 block is very solid, and arguably the reasons why it spoilt a bit the bulletproof reputation of its predecessor 3412 are mostly related to the marinization of the latter versions.
But the B-rated C32 that power this beast (and AFAIK also others SL Exp) is a very different animal, using much more heavy duty solutions, like the separate circuit after cooling (SCAC, in Cat jargon), the possibility to use keel cooling, etc. - rated in fact for 3 to 5k hours/year usage pattern, no less.
Besides, the world coverage of their assistance network is among the best, if not THE best, which for a boat like this is definitely a plus.
So, I'd think long and hard before twisting SL arm into a different powerplant.
Not that I'll ever have such opportunity, so that's all academic...
But just for sake of fantasizing, I wouldn't mind the colour either!

A few years ago there was a princess S65/S70 berthed in Dartmouth with the same colour, looked very cool and just a bit different, don't know if I would be brave enough to order one in that colour , thinking about trying to sell it in future! 😄 Not that its going to happen :ROFLMAO:
