I was wondering if you guys may help. I received the kit and I am ready to pot, but I am not sure how to mix the compound. Unlike what the article states, there is no instruction printed on the bag. I can feel I stick on one side. I read the previous thread, I understand that the stick must move or be removed, but I am not sure. Please could you help?

Regarding the silicon used, where can I buy it? Can I used silicon oil instead, or vaseline which I have already?

And for the fitting, again do I need special grease, or can vaseline do? And if I need a special one, which and where can I buy it (possibly on-line, or Maplin, B&Q)?

Thank you in advance.

You simply slide the "stick" of the packet which allows the two halves to mix together you must kneed the contents to mix them which should take about 10 minutes the compound in todays temps will have a life of about 20 to 30 minutes, it expands slightly on setting so allow for this. As for the rest I suggest you read Norman Es thread which has many contributions and thoughts some about potting etc. I for one did away with the silcone and potted the transducers in situ but there are other suggestions.

Although I didnot use it I believe Maplins or RS sell a silicone grease, I am sure there is a referance to the supply in Normans thread.
