Hi there,

My jabsco par-max 2.9 pump is going off intermittently and I can't find a leak. I am assuming it is the pump that is the problem, I am unsure if it is the diaphragm or the pressure switch. Any advice?

Cheers

Jim

You can bypass the pressure switch and install a whale in line pressure switch. I had same problem as you, the Whale switch fixed it.

Do you have a accumulator tank? If so , check the pressure, its a schrader valve.
I have the same pump and it does not need an accumulator (unless you have a purifying filter with high pressure drop, according to the instructions). The OP's problem is more likely the valve in the pump, that stops back-flow to the tank, not sealing perfectly.

have replaced several of these over the years, although when they fail the pump either will not shut off pressurisng the calorifier or refuses to turn on.

Cost pennies (off Ebay) simple to replace, sometimes with the pump in situ.
