Recently i thought i was going to pass away! We made a chickin & pork curry tasted wonderful untill we discovered the curry powder sell by date was 1968.
The wine,from my bilge and normally a good table wine from 1998 tasted like battery acid with added vinigar! We tried several others and they were all fine?
Next morning i felt that the end was close i wasent the only one,it was the same grangparents that provided conserves and from which Jean paul had brought back a very good cheese, that gave him the curry powder!
I spent the day ashore wondering about.There were fishing boats unloading trays of fish rather than go along to see if any fish might be had i went off to a quiter part looking at the blue white reds the boats were painted
One boat had a sign in the wheel house window for sale(in French) 74hp Diesel radar selfstearing VHF its 8.50m long wood.The owner was not far away and the price was fine!Its what ive been imagining finding to become a canal cruiser!Just what i wanted!!!
BUT what do i do with my current boat?Theres no where to leave her and if there was i couldent aford to!If i buy my dream canal boat i would have to stay aboard and move off within a month or so. Then i thought id sell my boat but no one would want a weather beaten small sail boat with only an outboard!
And what would i do in winter when the canal boats in Poland with 10 foot of snow on deck? Perhaps id find a wonderful stuningly atractive Polish girl,very possiable as there are lots and lots there i think the Polish have refind the are of producing woman and their inteligent
But my intention or thoughts have always been pottering about in winter when the weathers as its been this year!Or just enjoying the day and the life in winter in the med if is a bit blowy.
Now what do i do? buy it and hope to find an answer? Sell my sailboat and move all aboard the fisher?Or try to find a way up the Rhone and become a sailboat canal cruser?? Its so difficult to know what to do!
74HP would push along any river??I hope but what if i dont like the canals and rivers? If i begine to feel restricted? The fisher wont sail engine or nothing,no sluching along the fine spray comeing into the cockpit the rainbows in the sun arriveing at a free bay in Corsica before going on to Elba and without haveing to pay for fule!
The fisher has to have the holds cleaned and theres only sitting head room so its live on deck!
What should i do??My girlfriend suggested i sink my boat??But that was a bad day.
