It's this weekend.

Stu tides for a trip out of Cardigan Bay look good.

We could form a Menai raiding party....;)

Leave Peelyweelie 6.30 -7-30 bit early... 8.30 or later from Llanbedrog or Abersoch

Bardsey for 9.30 Sat am Low water slack 10.30 to pick up the early flood

Caernarfon Bar not recommended before 4pm so need to lose an hour or two so stop off at Ty-Coch for a pie and a pint:rolleyes:

Carry on up to PD by 6pm ready for a cold one and a meal at the Garddfon.

Raiding party at dusk on Litle Ship.

Rumour is she is very well stocked (not just green diesel) after Irish sea trip.:D:D

Are there any empty moorings that we could pick up?:confused:or could we get in the dock?

Return trip Sunday need to be over the Bar sometime between 6.30 and 7.30am get the ebb down to Bardsey tides against back to Peelyweely mid afternoon.

Tides are neaps Peelweely LW access ok also make for flatter lumpy bits at Bardsey also Caernarfon bar crossing could be earlier especially if no wind.Any offers of an escort Mr Sea Rush?

Winds are likely to be very light southerly or sea breezes so will be in mobo mode for most of the trip.

Perfect Passage Planning including Pubs and Bars = Permanently P*ssed Passengers

Just when you have a good plan you find a flaw

The Raft race is on Sunday so we would miss it.

What silly burger organised that.

Whats it like doing it at lo caernarfon bar on Sunday? is there enough water in the straits? how much tide to push to bardsey?
S

Dont think you will get over the bar at low water. How much do you draw??

Anyway, the first green buoy, you need to leave to port, then aim about 50 ft left of no3 red buoy, then pass to the left of it and carry on as normal.

The recomend is no sooner than half tide.

I found 5 metres at no1 buoy at about half tide last week.

I think H means the green one after the first two
No3 but green

He is right about half tide
Tiss neaps so not too bad
But taint a place to mess with if yer aint used to it
OK , if its flat but can be dodgy if the sea is going up an down a bit
2 hours before is ok if its flat calm.

Then there is a kinda gate, go left of centre , kinda towards the red un (C4)
There was a lump towards the green un this morning (C5) then aim fer the next un (C6) but leave it well off yer port bow until about 2 cables off an hug it as yer rounds to port
Rest is no prob.

After the South Card 'change' off of Victoria dock
By the time you get there, just keep the old Shell (green coloured) jetty half a cable to starboard an steer 040m keeping on that heading for 2 miles (saves beggerin about over to c14 on the Anglesey side) just skim past Plas Menai C9 will appear after that.
Then yer in PD
The rest is no prob.

Anyway why don't yer all come Saturday anyway?
Anyway
I have room on a RIB

Could do the Swellies at 40 kts if yer like:D

Oh!
About this morning
The peeps on the Trip were dead chuffed
Managed to locate Dolphins

Counted a dozen
Kept carefully away but then they joined us

Brilliant they were leaping about and eyeballing us
The peeps were amazed.

'How did yer know they would be ere like mate'
Nice Scousers
So I replied
'Errm , I know em like an where ter find em like an dey jump all oveer like for me'

'They do do dat don't de' said the youngest:D:D
Seriously (an I don't say that much) it was Magic for Me an fer them Scousers like:)

Stu low tide on bar just before 12 noon on Sunday neaps at 1.8m.

At low 1.8 m plus maybe 0.2 to 0.5 max depth on bar less 1m swell = brown skids and not just in the sand. And thats if you can find the channel second time through.

Earliest leave after low would be 3 pm to give a safe bar crossing . No tidal lift to Bardsey and tide against at Bardsey until HW slack at 17.55

Tides then good after then all the way to peely-wheelie. Earliest possible ETA 20.00 as you could go close in under cliffs at Bardsey and pick up the inshore eddy which starts running about an hour before HW slack.

Trouble is I dont like being close in if visibilty is bad as forecast for Sunday PM. Too many lobster pots and hard bits to run into.

Plan B?

Steve

I would have liked to have made it this W/E even though it would have meant cadging a lift on a boat with some kind peep sounds like it will be a lot of fun,
But I will be at the Alvis International get together at Mapledurham House, Reading helping a pal with his stall to sell his spare parts.
Well I will be carting 2 ton of them in the Horse box.
It looks like we are all in for a good W/E weather wise.
I hope you all have a great time look forward to some good pics.

Well it's been and gone, great day, would've been better without the rain but it wasn't too bad.
Had a go on the wierd twin-hulled RIB Kwackers has been on about, good fun but not sure I'd choose it over a conventional RIB. The first twin engined boat I've driven, makes manouvering too easy! Only kiddin' twin engine guys :)

It would be better if they had the event on the Saturday as I could only have one pint because I had to drive home afterwards :(

Tell me about it! I called in on Little Ship and had to leave without doing any serious harm to the fabled drinks locker! :(

We did give you nibbles and a gin and you hadn't even been on the water........ but dont worry about the fun box, it had already been raided several times over the weekend :)

Good to see you on board yesterday

Tom

Littleship proved very useful as a stepping stone on the way to the pub :)

And for the first time ever........... a visitor to Little Ship was granted a bottle free first visit.

Well he did get a round in at the Liverpool Arms :)....it was however noted that Kwacker once again.....didnt. Jeeze he's a tight ar##

The trip through the back of the Swellies on the way back was interesting, Lord knows what Kwacker will do if the petrified tree ever falls over.

Tom

PS. 20 mins to get along side and tie up then the rabble came in a rib and rammed me, typical that's all I can say typical!
