Vas I have been in the pool, forget the sea it's just a little difficult to get down too from the bar..... Erm I mean pool area. There are people swimming in the sea so I suppose it's. Ok. It is however the Atlantic so it's not as warm as the Med.Now get back to your boat.

When you booked this week did know there is an astronomical High Tide expected in the Eastern Atlantic around Tuesday 19 Nov 2.51m by eck thats all of 7ft 9in it will be just over you head.
Anyway all the very best have a splendid Holiday.
O an another thing The NW mob are heading for a certain lock-up with the intent to raid the fun box you left full of drinks for when you are re varnishing.

Madeira really is a beautiful island, and very benign weather on the SE side. Food good, nice wines, wot not to like? Lovely walks too.Maderia

Tides at Funchal are on average about 70 cm if I recall correctly. It's right out in the deep ocean and so does not experience any closed Gulf/Bay huge tide effect such as Bay of Fundy/Bristol channel etc. if you google tidal nodes/amphidrodes etc you will see some interesting maps and info eg certain points in North Sea & N.Atlantic have zero tides, around which the tidal wheel rotates.
Think you got the right boater, and sorry you won't be there when we pass thru.
