Back in the water on Tuesday, it seems an age since we came out. All antifouled and new galley 90% in. Ready for some weekends away :)

Looks bigger than my kitchen at home! PLease dont look below decks on my boat - havent started on the domestics yet!

I know the :D feeling - bent on new sails yesterday, rewiring done with new instruments, antifouling done. Booked to go back in water on Easter Monday as am away from Sunday for 2 weeks on the dark (well steely grey) side!

Don't show my wife that galley either!
We re-launch on April 1st (but after midday so hopefully any curse will be lifted) which is 2 weeks today. Boat is a complete mess inside, filthy outside, haven't anti-fouled although now ready to, and the mast is down, new shiny rigging in the shed here at home.
So, just a few jobs to do but we'll get there.....can't wait, been suffering severe deprivation symptoms especially since the weather's warmed up.

I ordered new galley and heads sinks and taps today and I have to say if the end result looks anything like yours then I will be a happy man and my better half will be even happier. Grand job :D.

New Galley

Even if your newly appointed domestics don't tip I suspect you'll need some latches for the doors!

Went for a thrash in Dovercourt Bay yesterday - absolutely lovely: must have worn off most of the newly applied antifoul getting 9kts on a beam reach in F4/5 southerly. Twas a bit lonely out there but blew the cobwebs, wood-shavings, flakey deck paint off the boat :-)

Tried to video but failed to find the record button on my mobile phone and then decided to put a reef in when the rigging started to hum.

Looks beautiful, and about 10 times larger than ours.

We just pulled out last week, haven't been able to get down since early January due to sickness, family commitments and work - so way behind schedule and hope everythings OK on board, most of the 'to do' list is now rolled to next winter :(. Just glad we did so much last year.

Hope to antifoul, polish and fit a new seacock over Easter and then back in after doing the bare minimum - next winter will be different!

Arrrgh the catches. It took us two days to put the new galley in, but after two more afternoons I still haven't got the catches right. How can one little job go so wrong? I've tried those little roller catches but they weren't going to hold the doors, so I've put ultra strong magnetic catches on for every day use. I'm going to put toddler proof catches on as well to hold everything closed.

Our current boat has nicely made turn pegs at the top of doors (which are set in to their frames).
The last one had teak 'finger holes' with those brass 'trigger' type catches inside.
Both ways worked for us.
