.. hrrmmm .. think so .. although with Daughter No1 about to go to University .. soon to be followed by daughters 2 & 3 it may be an unaffordable luxury rather than neccessity..

A boat is a necessity, not a luxury. It's only size that makes it unaffordable, and as you know, size does not matter. Thus unaffordability does not matter. Unless you're still thinking of coming over to the MAB Dark Side, in which case you will be introduced to the boat that costs far more than she is worth, in monetary terms. Just ask TK how much his teak decks cost and how much a "new" Twister would have cost instead.

I ended up coming out of University with a whopping great overdraft .. would'nt wish debt on anyone embarking on adult life

I too had a decent 3rd world debt sized overdraft.... I suspect that if I'd had more funding, i'd have still had a massive overdraft, as i'd have just partied a little harder!... mind you, I did spend at least 3 weeks of every term sailing offshore somewhere or another when I should have been at lectures instead...
read back through my old log books a while ago, and in 5 years as a student, managed 37 crossings over to the Channel Islands.....!
