Phoned up IPC Media to order a six month subscription of 'The Field' and 'Country Life' as a Chrimbo present for my pretentious friends. Was told that the minimum number of copies for a credit card order was 12. If I wanted 6 issues I would have to set up a DD and cancel it after 6 months. How crap is that?

The result - no £40 for IPC Media and my friends will be getting an alternative present.

They really don't have their act in order, made a complete town halls of my PBO subscription at SBS, still not got it. Typical Yankee doodle hard sell tactics.

Despite the high cost of living, it still remains popular.

I think the minimum is 12 months on credit card. It is on the ipc subs website anyway. With Country Life being a weekly, thats £120ish for the year.

I'll check with the subs department.

Set mine up with a nice man at Southampton Boat Show this year. Apart from not having any stock of the "recent" issue to give me at the time, copies have been landing on the doorstep sweet as a nut.
