IPC Charging for use of this forum

Charging? Excellent idea!

Did anyone ever look at the "site user terms" at the bottom of these pages?
Since our expertise ..."may be retained as the property of IPC", maybe we (forumites) should consider charging IPC, not the other way round !?!

Defence against greed accusation

Thought the comment a bit ripe and was pointing out the irony of providing the 'free' means of providing people with the ability of accusing the host of greed.

I think you get an "F" for English comprehension Badger - don't see how you can make the assumption you have from those posts.

However, if you read Kim's posts very carefully you can see that he is actually forseeing the end of the world on 7 April 2004, and I do agree with him on that (although some MoBo's may have thought it happened a week ago).

I really have no objection to the relevant IPC mags following up issues that have been raised on the various forums (or is it fora?). In fact, I am sure that to do otherwise would suggest a certain atopicality on their part. These forum(s/ra) bless those that give and those that receive, IPC can keep intouch with the interests and opinions of their readers. Whilst we, in turn, have the chance to raise and discuss issues that concern or, as is probably more often the case, amuse us.

I have absolutely no way of knowing for sure, but I dare say that the occasional shilling, or maybe even two in exceptional circumstances, has changed hands where a forum post has developed into a magazine article, particularly where the poster has been asked to pen the piece himself.

Let's be pleased that the publications to which we subscribe are proactive and enjoy the mutual benefits that the forum(s/ra) provide.
