can any one help i keep me yacht in corfu and like to be able to use my lap top pc to use the internet can any tell me the best way of doing this with it costing an arm and a leg

It depends upon how much you consider to be 'an arm and a leg'! It also depends upon the extent to which you want to surf the internet as opposed to sending and receiving email.

Connection via the normal GSM mobile phone network is perfectly acceptable for email. Have a look at 'Communication in European Waters' on my website (link below) for details. However, for surfing GSM is much too slow (9,600 bps) and you need to be thinking of 2.5G (GPRS) or 3G networks which are still very expensive.

Assuming you are in Gouvia, the marina will allow you to plug your laptop into their landline for €4/hour which is pretty good. Alternatively, the chandlery at the village end of the road into the marina will let you surf for less than that!
