Hi All :)

So I have started my restoration of my Teal 22. All the internal wood panels are being replaced as they are not in the best condition but just wondering what to use? The roof linings are 6mm ply at the moment (not marine grade) and I am finding it hard to find it close to me in Cornwall.

Can I just use normal ply? Or would it be better to apply a coat of resin to give it some better protection? The ply is going to covered in headliner material.

Thanks in advance :)

For boat interior plywood I use "exterior" grade, usually marked as "BWP" (boil and weather proof) and after shaping paint all over, especially the edges, with a wood primer. If the ply will be visible and it has a good looking surface veneer that you want to see, coat with a clear epoxy resin, sand smooth then varnish.
